About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing debtors, creditors, and cash flow processes, as well as preparing financial reports and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage debtors, creditors, and cash flow processes
- Prepare, review, and approve journals, accruals, and provisions
- Review general ledger and balance sheet prior to month-end close
- Perform monthly balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
- Analyse management accounts, investigate variances, and engage stakeholders on corrective actions
- Compile month-end financial and management reporting
- Prepare annual operating and capital budgets and assist with forecasting
- Load budgets and forecasts into the financial system
- Manage and monitor capital expenditure and fixed asset registers
- Support internal and external audits and resolve audit queries
Requirements
- Minimum 35 years experience in a Finance or Accounting leadership role
- Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills
- Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement ability
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (SAP advantageous)
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting
- SAICA or SAIPA qualification
