About the Role
Network Finance is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Pretoria East. As a key member of our building services and industrial mechanical systems team, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the installation of mechanical systems, collaborating with clients and project managers, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and oversee installation of mechanical systems, including HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, pumping, drainage, compressed air, gas reticulation, and mechanical plant systems.
- Review and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and codes.
- Supervise and inspect mechanical installations on-site.
- Provide technical guidance to subcontractors and site teams.
- Assist with scheduling, procurement planning, and commissioning.
- Collaborate on BOQs, variations, and cost evaluations.
- Enforce quality assurance and control procedures.
- Implement value engineering initiatives.
- Prepare method statements, O&M manuals, and technical reports.
- Ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
- Liaise with consultants, municipal officials, and statutory bodies.
- Work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers.
- Maintain strong communication with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–6 years’ experience in building services or industrial mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in design tools (AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of SANS, ASHRAE, or relevant building codes.
