About the Role
A well-established organisation is seeking a Maintenance and General Assistant responsible for the general maintenance, cleanliness, and safety of the company’s facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general cleaning, repair, and maintenance work inside and around the building.
- Report any defects, damage, or broken items on the premises.
- Receive and supervise contractors during working hours and after hours, including weekends, for repairs, installations, or maintenance.
- Conduct regular inspections of fire extinguishers, gas cylinders, and emergency equipment.
- Assist with moving and setting up tables, chairs, and other items for staff meetings and functions.
- Support fleet management by completing and updating vehicle inspection checklists.
- Perform basic repairs to aluminium doors, frames, and windows.
- Carry out basic plumbing tasks and minor electrical repairs when required.
Requirements
- Good computer literacy, including MS Office.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills in both English and Afrikaans.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Proactive and responsible approach to work.
Qualifications
Matric certificate (minimum requirement).
Valid EB driver’s licence.
Safety training will be advantageous.
