About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Financial Manager to join a luxury nature reserve based in White River, Mpumalanga. This is a live-in role that requires strong financial leadership and management skills to oversee all financial operations and ensure accurate reporting, effective financial control, and statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections and management accounts
• Deliver accurate and timely monthly financial reports
• Review daily financial operations including bank, debtor, creditor and cash reconciliations
• Oversee payroll reconciliations where applicable
• Manage cash flow, banking processes, payment runs and working capital
• Monitor expenditure against approved budgets
• Enforce strong internal financial controls and policies
• Ensure compliance with tax, VAT, COIDA and statutory requirements
• Coordinate and manage annual audits with external auditors
• Maintain and enforce financial governance frameworks
• Support donor reporting and 18A certificate processes where applicable
• Provide financial insights and reporting to management, Board or Trustees
• Review departmental expenditure and advise operational leadership
• Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis
• Lead, manage and develop the finance team
• Ensure performance delivery and continuous improvement within the department
Requirements
- BCom / BCompt or equivalent qualification (Accounting/Finance)
- Professional qualification advantageous (CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA, SAIPA, SAICA)
- 5 years finance/accounting experience
- Minimum 2 years in a managerial/supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of SA tax and statutory compliance
- Experience in budgeting, cash flow and audit processes
- Advanced MS Excel and accounting system proficiency
