Midrand: DevSecOps Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned DevSecOps Manager to lead our team in Midrand, South Africa. As a technical leader with extensive experience in regulated environments, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our security posture across multiple cloud platforms. Your expertise in AWS, CI/CD, and IaC will enable us to streamline our development and deployment processes while ensuring the highest level of security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain a comprehensive DevSecOps strategy aligned with regulatory requirements (POPIA/GDPR)
  • Lead the implementation and management of cloud security solutions on AWS
  • Develop and execute penetration testing methodologies and vulnerability management plans
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cultural change in hybrid/fast-paced environments
  • Foster strong stakeholder communication (technical to executive level) to ensure alignment and buy-in
  • Drive problem-solving, metrics-driven approaches, and collaboration skills across the organization

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or Engineering
  • 35 years of experience in technical leadership or management roles
  • Strong hands-on AWS experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP certifications preferred)
  • Proficiency with security tools (Inspector, GuardDuty, SAST/DAST like SonarQube, SIEM)
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Strong experience with Linux, networking, and Git
  • CI/CD, IaC, Docker/Kubernetes expertise

Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Security Specialty or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional certification
  • CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or CISA certification (essential for regulated environments)
