Durban: ICT Development and Architecture Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced ICT Development and Architecture Manager to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ICT development and architecture, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. This role involves leading the development of ICT systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving business growth through innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing, planning, and systems design
  • Conducting periodic reviews of existing systems and applications for effectiveness and efficiency in meeting business needs
  • Developing strategies for improvement
  • Scope development requests and requirements from business
  • Evaluating feasibility studies for adoption decisions
  • Identifying member challenges and restraints of use/ease of access to systems
  • Planning, scoping, documenting, and overseeing system improvements through enhancement, integration, or interfacing of existing systems, as well as implementation of new systems for adoption
  • Liaising with development support teams and internal staff for feedback
  • Soliciting inter-department end-user feedback to ensure high accuracy of development undertakings
  • Ensuring thorough system and UAT testing is conducted in collaboration with external vendors/developers and responsible staff, prior to release
  • Reporting and documentation
  • Driving data quality initiatives
  • Building data warehouses & marts, PowerBI reporting
  • Researching and implementing projects
  • Establishing and ensuring adherence to best practice guidelines of System Development Life-Cycle (SDLC)
  • Implementing standards of compliance and good practice, taking into account audit recommendations, as well as SOC2 compliance
  • Factoring in security, audit, and Disaster Recovery requirements in all projects

Requirements

  • Matric
  • Tertiary qualification at NQF Level 7 with ICT majors
  • Microsoft SQL
  • IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
  • INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP)
  • DEAC Certified Enterprise Architect (CEA)
  • 5 years ICT security experience in a Systems Development Environment
