About the Role
A luxury 5-star safari lodge in the Greater Kruger region is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead all kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in luxury hospitality and a passion for health-conscious, wellness-focused cuisine.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage all kitchen operations
• Design and prepare high-quality, wellness-focused menus
• Ensure consistency and excellence across all meal services
• Cater to dietary requirements and personalised guest preferences
• Lead and manage the kitchen team effectively
• Maintain high standards of performance, presentation, and professionalism
• Support training, teamwork, and operational efficiency within the kitchen
• Maintain strict hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards
• Manage stock control, ordering, and food costings
• Ensure efficient kitchen organisation and waste management practices
Requirements
Formal cheffing qualification
Previous experience in a 5-star lodge environment essential
Proven experience managing a kitchen team
Strong understanding of health-conscious and wellness-focused cuisine
Own vehicle and valid driver’s licence
Non-smoker and no pets
