Centurion: Junior Accountant – Centurion

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and capable Junior Accountant to join a stable and growing engineering business within an international group. This role is suited to a candidate with solid foundational experience in accounting, who can confidently handle day-to-day financial processes and contribute to reporting and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture and process financial transactions (invoices, payments, receipts)
  • Perform bank, supplier, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly reporting, journals, and financial packs
  • Support VAT, PAYE, and UIF submissions
  • Ensure compliance with South African accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Work on accounting systems (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar)
  • Assist with audit preparation and financial controls

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting (BCom / Accounting Science or similar)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a Junior Accountant or similar role
  • Working knowledge of SA accounting standards and tax (VAT, PAYE, UIF)
  • Proficiency in accounting/financial systems (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar)
  • Strong Excel skills
