About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our FinTech/Financial Services team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and operational oversight, driving process improvements and financial control enhancements across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the Group Financial Controller and Directors on financial strategy and operational performance
- Oversee financial processes, controls, and reporting standards across the business
- Maintain and manage the Fixed Asset Register and depreciation schedules
- Manage intercompany transactions and loan accounts across multiple entities
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal financial policies
- Drive process improvements, reporting efficiencies, and financial control enhancements
- Support automation and optimisation initiatives within the finance function
- Assist with financial planning and provide commercial insights to support business decision-making
- Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs
- Compile detailed variance analysis, margin reviews, and operational reporting
- Process journals and perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Analyse financial trends and provide reporting insights to leadership
- Support business units with financial analysis and performance reporting
- Oversee creditors and approve supplier payments
- Monitor debtor ageing and drive collections management
- Manage cash flow forecasting and funding requirements
- Ensure accurate reconciliations across bank accounts, customer accounts, and balance sheet items
- Reconcile customer stock and transactional data against internal systems
- Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL, provisional tax, and related statutory returns
- Manage SARS submissions and resolve queries or discrepancies
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements
- Act as the primary contact for external auditors
- Prepare supporting documentation for annual financial statements and audits
- Resolve audit queries and ensure all reporting deadlines are met
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum 8 years finance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or managerial role
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and IFRS exposure
- Proven experience within operational and commercially focused finance environments
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems exposure
