About the Role
The Debtors Controller role is a critical position within Brights Hardware’s Debtors Department, responsible for ensuring timely payments from customers. The successful candidate will play a key part in maintaining excellent customer service while driving revenue growth through effective debt collection and communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all application forms
- Opening of new accounts
- Attend to and resolve customer-related queries
- Send invoices and statements copies to customers on request via the system via email
- Allocate EFT payments received from bookkeeper to relevant accounts, unblock accounts that are paid up to date
- Block overdue accounts and email reminder and final demand letters to customers (60 days & over)
- Follow up on age-analysis monthly
- Check age analyses payments monthly
- Email statements at month end to clients (month end procedure only in supervisors absence)
- Write off in-house accounts i.e. Brights shop accounts (month end procedures only in the absence of supervisor)
- E-mail age analysis and franchise customer list and capture declaration turn over onto Cinque system monthly (only on absence of supervisor)
- Ensure housekeeping of work area
- Perform any work-related task as delegated by superior
Requirements
- Matric or Equivalent
- 5 Years minimum experience in a similar role
- Brights Induction (Service excellence)
- Customer service training
- Ability to handle pressure
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written)
- Planning, time management & organising skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Microsoft office (Internet, E-mails, Word & Excel)
