About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Africa Travel Specialist to design and sell exceptional travel experiences throughout Southern and East Africa. The ideal candidate is commercially minded, highly organised, and skilled at converting enquiries into confirmed high-value bookings while crafting personalised journeys that exceed guest expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and sell tailor-made itineraries, including flights, transfers, tours, and accommodation across Southern & East Africa.
- Proactively convert travel enquiries into confirmed bookings.
- Identify and maximise upsell and cross-sell opportunities across properties and experiences.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of key destinations, lodges, hotels, and activity providers across the region.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships with preferred third-party partners.
- Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
- Monitor and report on sales performance, conversion rates, and revenue metrics.
- Identify new business opportunities and contribute to sales strategies and campaigns.
- Establish and maintain relationships with high-value and repeat clients.
- Ensure accurate reservation information is captured in systems such as Res Request, Tourplan, Safari Portal, and CRM platforms.
- Confirm bookings timeously and maintain clear, professional communication throughout the guest journey.
- Manage all booking files from initial enquiry to guest departure.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Mandatory)
- Tourism/Hospitality Degree or Diploma (Advantageous)
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in a similar travel-consulting or sales-focused role (Essential)
- Tour-operator experience (Highly advantageous)
- Hospitality or tourism industry background (Beneficial)
