About the Role

As a Junior Journey Specialist in our Cape Town City Centre office, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless bookings and planning for clients’ trips to South Africa. You will build strong relationships with operations specialists, familiarisation trip attendees, and agents, while maintaining accurate records and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Reservations Manager on booking issues and manage all changes and updates.
  • Build trust-based relationships with operations specialists to understand business trends and guest needs.
  • Attend ad hoc familiarisation trips to stay informed about destinations.
  • Ensure all relevant systems are updated.
  • Handle Accommodation, transfer, and touring bookings.
  • Verify that all booking details are accurate once confirmation emails are received (flight details, times, hotels, guides).
  • Provide necessary paperwork for guides ahead of time (guide itinerary, budget sheet, feedback forms, vouchers).
  • Respond to queries from Agents and Direct clients on various matters (activities, routes, restaurants, vehicles, sites, lost items).
  • Maintain accurate booking files with agent correspondence, AP correspondence, costings, invoices, credit notes, and updated booking file covers.
  • Ensure all documents are in order.

Requirements

  • Matric certificate
  • Tertiary certificate in Travel & Tourism/hospitality (advantageous)
  • 2 years experience in handling customer relationships and developing/promoting product in the inbound travel industry
  • In-depth knowledge of South Africa, specifically Cape Town, Garden Route, Safari Destinations, and Southern Africa
  • Personal or educational travel experience in the above areas (advantageous)
  • Computer Literate (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word)
  • Proven English literacy
  • Working knowledge of TourPlan and WETU or similar booking/operating system
