Job Description
CORE PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To produce top quality Litho and large format print work according to the work ticket within the allocated time, including operating the KBA large format printing machine and ensuring it is maintained in good working condition.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Operations Management:
- Maintain machine to specific guidelines set out by the supplier & the company
- Read & understand work ticket and what is required for the task at hand
- Follow instructions on work tickets, read & understand 10 point checklist
- Use the correct material as per work ticket
- Follow work schedule& plan next print job
- Ensure completeness & make ready to the company iso) standards
- Ensure the correct colour is achieved and signed off by his supervisor or a senior minder on shift
- Ensure the correct amount of sheets is produced as per the work ticket as required
- Ensure at all times that production & efficiencies are according to company standards
- Ensure that all capturing information regarding a particular print on Printvis for costing purposes
- Compliance with rules & regulations
- Ensure stacks are labelled stacks & materials utilised according to work ticket
- Daily time management via Printvis system
- Throughout of production at optimum level communicate job status to Shift Supervisor
Machine Maintenance:
- Pre-shift inspection of equipment
- Adhere to weekly, monthly scheduled maintenance plan
- Report on maintenance problems via the correct system
- Logging of equipment performance to agreed index
- Report machine breakdowns / down time
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure quality measures are in place
- Track quality and quantity
Human Resources
- Follow work schedule& plan next print job
- Compliance with rules & regulations
- Follow instructions on work tickets, read & understand 10 point checklist
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Minimal errors in print
- All machine faults reported on time and addressed
- Clean and well maintained machines
- Ability to follow instructions
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
Knowledge and Experience:
- Matric
- Knowledge of Computers, Printing and Finishing Technologies
- 8 Colour Heidelberg CP2000 exp. required
- Trade Test Qualification
- Must have book mark and magazine knowledge
- Must have knowledge of perfect binding
