Job Description
Our client, a well-established organisation in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Buyer to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring that purchasing processes support the company’s operational efficiency and cost objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source, negotiate, and purchase goods and services required for operations.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery timelines to achieve best value.
- Create and manage accurate purchase orders in line with company standards.
- Monitor stock levels and forecast procurement needs to prevent shortages.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance in all procurement documentation.
- Resolve supplier or delivery issues promptly to avoid operational delays.
- Prepare and maintain purchasing reports using Excel and SAGE Evolution.
Requirements:
- Education: Relevant qualification or diploma in Supply Chain / Procurement / Purchasing (advantageous).
- Grade 12
- Experience: 2–5 years’ proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in SAGE Evolution (advantageous) and MS Office Suite.
- Location: Preferably residing in or near the Meyerton / Vereeniging and Vanderbiljpark area.
