About the Role
The Quality Control Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and food safety at our Cookhouse Creamery facility. This position requires an individual with strong hands-on skills, excellent decision-making abilities, and a passion for quality and food safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Check the quality of incoming materials and final products against specifications.
- Conduct daily hygiene and GMP inspections across production, stores, canteens and change rooms, and stop lines where food safety or quality is compromised.
- Verify equipment such as infrared thermometers, scales and metal detectors and monitor critical control points (temperatures, brine concentration, pH, salt).
- Take inline samples and environmental swabs as per the sampling programme and identify problem areas with the Senior Lab Technician.
- Inspect and clear incoming raw materials, packaging and ingredients and manage positive release of final products based on lab results and specifications.
- Generate NCRs and CARs, conduct root cause analysis and follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate QC, food safety and pest control records and support pest control management.
- Generate COAs for final products in line with customer requirements and ensure COAs are ready before dispatch.
