About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Steel Slitter Operator to join our production team in the steel industry. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality cuts and efficient production processes. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor steel slitting machines to cut coils into specified widths.
- Set up and adjust slitting knives, spacers, and guides according to job specifications.
- Ensure accurate measurements and quality cuts in line with production requirements.
- Inspect steel coils for defects, thickness, and material quality before processing.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments during operation.
- Maintain production efficiency while minimizing material waste.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning to ensure optimal operation.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.
- Record production data, coil numbers, and job details accurately.
- Work closely with the production team and supervisors to meet deadlines.
- Load and unload steel coils using overhead cranes or forklifts (if certified).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
