About the Role

We are seeking a Sales Representative with extensive experience in sales and technical knowledge of hydraulic equipment to join our team in Boksburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the mining industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Maintenance:
  • Ensure regular customer visits within the call cycle using tools to plan effectively.
  • Cover general issues as well as updates on our services.
  • Investigate new business potential at all existing customers.
  • Submit a weekly report detailing customer visits and activities.
  • Customer Data Base:
  • Maintain accurate records of new customer accounts and existing account details, including position, individuals, and reporting structure.
  • Ensure full power base identification by position for all customer businesses units.
  • Customer Fleet Information:
  • Update customer fleet population and status, including Underground Products and Competitors.
  • Assist with forecasting analysis for parts and components supply, repairs, rebuilds, and product replacement.
  • New Business:
  • Source, plan, and obtain new business in the territory linked to parts, equipment, and services.
  • Support agreed activities and targets at specific identified customers.
  • Customer Care:
  • Demonstrate commitment to customer care, ensuring prompt resolution of queries and needs.
  • Interpret and communicate urgency and implied needs effectively.
  • Customer Complaints:
  • Treat complaints as priority and resolve to everyone’s satisfaction.
  • Investigate regular service failures and escalate to relevant department heads.
  • Warranty Claims:
  • Follow correct warranty procedures and execute timeously to safeguard the company.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to improve future performance.
  • Sales Analysis:
  • Analyse sales figures on a weekly and monthly basis, demonstrating a clear understanding of the figures to identify areas for improvement.
  • Sales Activities:
  • Determine customers’ specific technical and application needs and suggest appropriate solutions.
  • Perform application analysis and provide technical support during Underground visits.
  • Build reports with customers through continuous support activities.
  • Keep customers informed about new products and technical updates, compiling proposals and reports related to these.
  • Targets:
  • Achieve Annual Sales Targets for specific products and collaborate with other teams to contribute toward company targets.
  • Understand customer budgets, expansions, projects, and operations to identify opportunities and understand risks.
  • Customer Communication:
  • Conduct verbal and written communication (proposals/letters) of high standard.
  • Make formal presentations to customers as required.
  • Administration and Information Management:
  • Accurately populate and maintain records in approved formats.
  • Maintain records for periods required by legislation, ensuring accessibility and easy reference.
  • Ensure timely, correct, and accurate administration with due concern to delegation of authority.
  • Spares Parts Forward Planning:
  • Assist Stores in maintaining correct stock levels supporting relevant products.
  • Assist Stores in ordering and stocking correct items for new machines in affected areas.
  • Service and Repairs Forecasting:
  • Liaise with customers to understand service schedules, planning availability of appropriate service kits and parts as needed.
  • Collaborate to maintain adequate stock levels for all planned major repairs for responsible product range.
  • Component Repairs:
  • Drive efforts to secure new repair business.
  • Oversee all aspects of repair operations.
  • Manage existing repair business and promote ongoing growth.
