About the Role

Hire Resolves Client is seeking for the perfect candidate in the Solar Renewable Energy Industry, specifically for a Pr Electrical Engineer IPP Project Developer and Manager role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, project development experience, and a proven track record of managing projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Ability to produce designs using CAD software (AutoCAD and Microgrids)
• Design solar plants using Helioscope or similar PV design systems
• Prepare and manage project budgets and cash flow
• Produce detailed quotes and Bill of Quantities (BoQ) with detail
• Familiarize with Eskom standards and processes
• Experience in HV, MV, and LV installations
• Strong negotiating skills
• Prepare and present proposals
• Generate Project BoQ
• Procure equipment
• Manage implementation of small and utility-scale projects
• Ability to develop Utility Scale projects
• Knowledge of South African Engineering standards
• Understand the OHS Act
• Strong leadership skills
• Must have own vehicle and drivers license
• Willing to travel
• Willing to be away from home for extended periods of time for projects
• Good problem-solving skills, Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work meticulously and ensure accuracy in designs and calculations
• Good communication skills both verbally and written
• Ability to be a team player
• Keep abreast with the latest solar technology trends
• Conduct applied research work in order to initiate process changes
• Assume responsibility for engineering discipline design as representative of the operational teams in projects
• Direct and co-ordinate aspects of the project cycle to ensure optimum performance according to business requirements, company objectives, and sound engineering practice

Requirements

• Minimum BSc in Electrical Engineering
• 1 – 3 Years design experience in a work environment
• Minimum of 3 years in management position
• Experience in Renewables
• Microgrid experience required
• Project development experience required
• IPP Project development and Implementation (Added advantage)
• Registered with Engineering Council of South Africa (Pr. Eng) (ECSA)

Qualifications

• Relevant registration certificate as Project Manager with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP)
