About the Role
Bushwise, a distinguished family-owned destination in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, is seeking a professional and guest-centric Couple – Back up/Full Trails Guides for their Camp. This exclusive, adults-only retreat offers an immersive bush experience where deep nature connection and safety are paramount. We are looking for a couple that excels in the “human element” of guiding, providing world-class storytelling while maintaining rigorous safety standards in a Big 5 environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead safe, engaging walking safaris and game drives in a Big 5 area.
- Provide expert interpretation of animal tracks, flora, and ecosystems.
- Uphold the highest safety and rifle handling protocols.
- Mentor junior staff and assist with lodge operations as required.
Requirements
Role 1: Trails Guide (Lead)
- NGF 2/4 qualification (VPDA).
- Valid Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH) and SAPS Competency.
- Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
- First Aid Level 2.
- Minimum 35 years’ experience in a luxury Big 5 lodge.
Role 2: Backup Trails Guide
- NQF2 qualification.
- Valid ARH and Rifle Competency.
- Valid PrDP.
- Strong guest interaction skills and a passion for hospitality.
