Johannesburg: C# Solutions Architect

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced C# Solutions Architect to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our technical leadership, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable enterprise solutions that meet our performance, scalability, and longevity requirements. You will work closely with development teams, provide expert guidance on technical trade-offs, and contribute to the evolution of our technical standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and define functional and non-functional requirements for software solutions
  • Design deployment architecture aligned with performance, scalability, and longevity requirements
  • Evaluate technical trade-offs, including client budget, complexity, and future maintainability
  • Assess and align the required skill sets for both the development and long-term support of solutions
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical challenges, providing hands-on guidance where required
  • Lead technical decision-making across development teams and projects
  • Conduct code reviews tailored to project standards and individual developer capability
  • Establish, maintain, and evolve technical standards and best practices
  • Continuously refine development and delivery processes to improve quality and efficiency
  • Provide expert input on effort estimates and technical feasibility
  • Mentor junior and intermediate developers, supporting skills development and knowledge transfer
  • Contribute to performance management and technical recruitment processes
  • Participate in pre-sales activities, including solution design, proposals, and estimations
  • Support marketing initiatives through technical writing, presentations, and research

Requirements

  • BSc in Computer Science or a related tertiary qualification
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills
  • Extensive experience in software architecture and system design
  • Strong proficiency in C# and the .NET framework
  • Experience with front-end technologies, including HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Proven experience with WPF and WCF
  • Solid understanding of enterprise application design and integration patterns
  • Experience with code reviews, mentoring, and technical leadership
