About the Role
Our client, a luxury inbound travel specialist, is seeking a senior Travel Architect to own the end-to-end client journey for international travellers. As a key member of their team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering high-touch luxury African journeys that are immersive, well-managed, and memorable from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Intake & Qualification
- Manage new leads via CRM and conduct detailed client discovery
- Assess travel purpose, budget, dates, preferences, and travel style
- Perform visa and travel restriction checks
- Establish rapport and position as the trusted travel expert
- Research & Itinerary Design
- Design multi-country African itineraries with thoughtful routing and pacing
- Research flights, accommodation, experiences, tours, and transfers
- Obtain supplier quotes, evaluate promotions, and confirm availability
- Refine itineraries based on client feedback
- Proposal Development
- Compile polished, accurate proposals with clear pricing breakdowns
- Present proposals via email, calls, or virtual meetings
- Conduct thorough pricing accuracy checks
- Booking Oversight & Supplier Coordination
- Oversee bookings managed by support staff while retaining accountability
- Quality-check supplier confirmations
- Issue invoices, process payments, and manage ROE/FOREX considerations
- Monitor release dates and ensure financial accuracy
- Documentation & Pre-Travel Processing
- Conduct visa, passport, insurance, and compliance checks
- Approve final travel documentation and branded travel packs
- During-Travel Support
- Prepare detailed client briefs for on-ground suppliers
- Manage complex issues, disruptions, and escalations
- Deliver exceptional client care throughout the journey
- Post-Travel Client Retention
- Conduct personal follow-ups with clients
- Capture feedback and preferences in CRM
- Encourage reviews, referrals, and repeat business
Requirements & Experience
5 years’ inbound travel consulting experience in luxury FIT markets
Proven experience designing multi-country African itineraries
Strong commercial and pricing accuracy skills
CRM proficiency (HubSpot advantageous)
Tourplan knowledge advantageous
