About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accountant / Financial Controller to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing financial leadership and guidance to support the growth and success of our organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute weekly/monthly reviews of material usage, labour efficiency, and overhead absorption to identify cost leaks
- Manage project files, stock and component levels
- Coordinate with cross-functional divisions to provide management reports and recommendations
- Analyse variances in BOM on cost reports and provide recommendations for resolution
- Provide profitability reporting and pricing for projects
- Implement waste cost management strategies
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards
Requirements
- Completed National Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting
- 2-4 years experience in a similar role within the engineering and/or manufacturing sector
- Experience in costing of manufactured parts, materials and product
- Proven experience in waste cost management as well as profitability reporting and pricing for projects
- Solid expertise in ERP (SAP, Syspro, etc) and Advanced Excel
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
