Cold Storage Clerk A prominent seafood processing, import, and export company is seeking an organized and resilient Cold Storage Clerk to oversee the safe loading and offloading of products while maintaining strict food safety and inventory quality standards. Working hours are Mondays to Thursdays from 19h00 to 04h30, and Fridays from 17h30 to 03h00, with flexibility required for overtime, weekends, public holidays, and weekly rotating day/night shifts. About Our Client Our client is a prominent seafood processing, import, and export company. The company engages in food processing operations and manages daily warehouse operations through an operations team. Candidates work directly under a Shift Manager to hit departmental targets. The Role: Cold Storage Clerk The Cold Storage Clerk exists to oversee the safe loading and offloading of products while maintaining strict food safety and inventory quality standards. This role contributes to the business by keeping daily warehouse operations running efficiently and hitting departmental targets under the Shift Manager. The main focus areas include physical cargo handling, cold chain compliance, inventory and data tracking, pallet management, and precise administrative documentation. Key Responsibilities Utilize a minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in a cold store or warehouse environment within the FMCG or manufacturing industry to execute daily operations. Coordinate and physically handle the safe loading, offloading, and neat stacking of fresh and frozen fish cargo onto trucks, shipping containers, and transport units. Enforce strict cold chain protocols, check container readiness for cleanliness and temperature before loading, and immediately transfer fresh fish to cold storage. Capture precise bin counts and operational data into the tracking system, verifying stock quantities, grades, and expiry dates against official documentation. Prepare clean pallets, weigh and mark empty pallets for random-weight products, and ensure outbound pallets are securely wrapped and labeled with blue identification tags. Review official loading instructions against picking lists, generate Goods Issued Vouchers (GIVs) and Delivery Notes, audit paperwork, and secure signed documentation. About You Requires a minimum of 23 years of work experience in a cold store or warehouse environment within the FMCG or manufacturing industry. Requires a Grade 12 certificate. Requires strong proficiency in MS Office 365, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive. Requires physical fitness and the capability of working comfortably inside extreme cold-storage and manufacturing environments for extended periods. Requires strong verbal and written communication skills matched with a collaborative, team-player mindset. Requires a proactive get it done attitude, remaining highly productive with minimal supervision, and staying adaptable to short-notice operational adjustments. Requires sharp critical thinking skills, excellent time management, and the ability to resolve operational queries with speed and accuracy under pressure. Requires high levels of honesty, reliability, a commitment to superior work standards, and a continuous learning mindset. Requires full flexibility and willingness to work overtime, weekends, public holidays, and weekly rotating day/night shifts as required. Prior exposure to food processing operations alongside a strong understanding of HACCP guidelines, food safety management, and standard operating procedures is highly advantageous. Hands-on exposure to a Warehouse Management System is a distinct advantage. A qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Warehouse Management, or Storekeeping is beneficial. Possession of reliable personal transport is highly advantageous.
