Job Description

Were looking for an Intermediate Front-End Engineer skilled in React to build fast, reliable, and accessible user interfaces. Youll collaborate closely with designers, backend engineers, and product managers to ship features end-to-end, improve performance, and contribute to a maintainable, well-tested codebase. This role is suited to someone who can independently own medium-sized features from planning to production, while still receiving guidance on more complex architectural decisions. Youll also support junior developers and contribute to UI architecture and tooling. Our successful Intermediate Front-End Engineer will Build user-facing features in React using clean, reusable, component‑driven patterns. Manage client and server state with React Query, SWR, Context and Reducer patterns, and integrate REST APIs with proper caching and error handling. Write high‑quality unit and integration tests, contribute to CI checks, code reviews and documentation. Optimise rendering, bundle size and performance while ensuring strong accessibility and semantic HTML. Translate Figma designs into responsive, production‑ready components and contribute to a modular component library. Support reliability through incident triage, debugging and clear root‑cause analysis. Collaborate with product and design on scope, UX decisions, estimates and risk communication. Refactor legacy code safely, manage feature flags and keep dependencies up to date. If you have these qualifications, join our team: Matric, computer literacy (MS Office), strong numeracy, and excellent verbal and written English skills; plus 6 years of front‑end experience with 6 years in React, strong JavaScript (ES6) and TypeScript skills, solid CSS and responsive design capability (including Tailwind), experience with Next.js, Vite or CRA, confidence with testing (Jest RTL), linting and Git workflows, REST API integration experience with caching and optimistic updates, and familiarity with accessibility and internationalisation.
