About the Role
Our client, a well-established company within the retail and sales industry, is seeking a Junior Accountant to support their financial operations. The ideal candidate will have completed their articles (SAICA or SAIPA) and possess strong accounting knowledge. Key Responsibilities
- Capture daily financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Assist with month-end reporting, including management accounts and variance analysis.
- Reconcile bank accounts, suppliers, and customer accounts.
- Monitor daily sales, cashbook, and petty cash transactions.
- Support with budget tracking and department-level cost reviews.
- Assist with VAT, PAYE, and other statutory submissions.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and support stock reconciliation processes.
- Liaise with sales and operations teams to verify and align financial data.
- Prepare documentation for audits and compliance checks.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial systems and reporting accuracy.
Requirements
- BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
- Completed Articles SAICA (required).
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications: BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
Salary & Benefits
- R25 000 – R30 000 per month.
