About the Role
The Senior Health and Safety Officer will play a crucial role in implementing and controlling the Safety Management Programme within our company, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation regarding the health and safety of employees and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist management in implementing and controlling the Safety Management Programme
- Facilitate compliance with applicable legislation regarding the health and safety of employees and subcontractors
- Conduct accident/incident investigations
- Manage workers’ compensation claims
- Ensure adherence to minimum requirements for Health and Safety Management, including professional registration as a Safety Manager with SACPCMP
- Administer health and safety meetings
- Maintain accurate records and reports
Requirements
- A National Diploma or degree in Health and Safety Management
- Professional registration as a Safety Manager with SACPCMP
- At least 8 years’ experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry
- Driver’s license and own reliable vehicle required
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations and standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications: National Diploma or degree in Health and Safety Management, professional registration with SACPCMP
