About the Role
PBT Group is seeking an exceptional Senior Java Developer to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying innovative Java integration services and applications that drive business success in our banking environment. We’re looking for someone with a passion for solving complex technical challenges and a strong track record of delivering high-quality products on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy Java integration services and applications
- Collaborate with the development team to understand requirements, design solutions, and ship new features through the development lifecycle
- Participate in agile planning, estimation, and retrospectives
- Troubleshoot and optimize application performance
- Implement security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards
Requirements
- Strong technical/software engineering background with a focus on Java
- 10 years of experience in Java application programming/development
- 8 years of JEE-experience
- Solid understanding of system, application architecture, design, development, implementation, and deployment (end-to-end)
- Experience with web technologies, including Web Development JavaScript Frameworks, preferably Angular 4, JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, etc.
- Solid experience on J2EE, Spring Framework, JPA, Hibernate, Open-Source Frameworks
- Good experience with SOA-Architecture and the related integration protocols (e.g., Web Services (SOAP/XML), REST & JSON, and MQ)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
