About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Toolmaker to join our team at Ottery, where you will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on moulds while manufacturing and repairing engineering components. With over 10-15 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our toolroom machinery and the production of high-quality parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate 10-15 years experience or more within the manufacturing industry as a Toolmaker.
- Operate all toolroom machinery efficiently to produce and maintain moulds and related components.
- Manufacture and repair moulds with precision from interpreted drawings and provide input on mould design.
- Carry out fault finding and troubleshooting on moulds and assess the condition of tooling returning from production.
- Train and mentor Tool, Jig and Die apprentices.
- Maintain stock of machining and cutting tools and ensure the machine shop remains organized and safe.
- Comply with food safety principles, Good Manufacturing Practices, and health and safety requirements.
- Liaise with management regarding production discrepancies and work to prioritized schedules.
Requirements
- Minimum 10-15 years experience or more within the manufacturing industry in the position of Toolmaker.
- Trade Test Tool Jig and Die Maker (MERSETA).
- Grade 12 and Minimum N2 qualification.
- Extensive knowledge of toolroom equipment.
- Ability to apply quality principles and Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) standards.
