Job Description: Lead a small, focused team and make a measurable difference Hybrid work flexibility for better work-life balance Opportunity to innovate and streamline processes using automation tools Be part of a culture that values growth, accountability, and excellence Own the compliance process: Oversee accurate and timely submission of tax returns for individuals, companies, and trusts Lead and mentor: Supervise two Tax Compliance Officers, manage workflow, and ensure quality standards are met Stay ahead of deadlines: Monitor dashboards daily, track submissions, and resolve SARS queries efficiently Drive improvement: Identify opportunities for automation and process optimisation to boost efficiency Collaborate and communicate: Act as the go-to person for client queries and liaise with internal teams to ensure data accuracy Report and review: Prepare monthly compliance reports, assist with year-end reviews, and maintain up-to-date client profiles Skills & Experience: Minimum 2 years experience as a Tax Compliance Officer in a professional services firm Demonstrated ability to manage a personal client portfolio. Bilingual in Afrikaans and English Advanced knowledge of SARS eFiling, GreatSoft Tax, or similar tax systems Strong tax compliance experience across individuals, companies, and trusts Leadership skills with a knack for coaching and motivating teams Detail-oriented and tech-savvy, with experience in platforms like eFiling, Xero Tax, or GreatSoft Ability to manage deadlines and deliver under pressure Qualification: Minimum: Diploma or Degree in Taxation / Accounting / Finance Preferred: Registered Tax Practitioner (SAIT) or eligible for registration Contact BRITNEY HATTINGH on

Job Description

Oversee the preparation, review, and submission of tax returns for individuals, companies, and trusts Ensure all tax filings are accurate and submitted within SARS deadlines Review tax calculations and supporting schedules prepared by the team Monitor SARS eFiling and tax system dashboards for submissions and correspondence Manage SARS queries, verifications, and audits, including supporting documentation Supervise two Tax Compliance Officers, allocating work and managing turnaround times Conduct regular check-ins and planning sessions with the team Review work prior to submission to ensure quality and compliance standards are met Maintain tax compliance trackers, billing records, and client tax profiles Ensure all tasks are recorded in practice management systems and aligned with KPIs Drive process improvements and support automation of recurring compliance tasks Prepare monthly compliance reports and support year-end and filing season activities Skills & Experience: Minimum 35 years experience in a Tax Compliance role within a professional services firm Strong working knowledge of South African tax legislation Experience managing a client portfolio Supervisory or review experience advantageous Proficiency in SARS eFiling, GreatSoft Tax, Xero Tax, Excel, and Microsoft 365 Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans Ability to coach, mentor, and lead junior team members Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Taxation, Accounting, or Finance OR equivalent Registered Tax Practitioner (SAIT) or eligible for registration advantageous Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
