About the Role

The Technical Services Manager will oversee the technical department’s operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in meeting food safety and quality standards. This role involves managing the operational budget, arranging for audits, and liaising with other business divisions to address customer concerns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff and organize work outputs
  • Ensure efficiency and effectiveness of work conducted by the technical department
  • Manage the operational budget of the department
  • Arrange for GMP and internal audits to meet certification body, company, and customer requirements
  • Liaise with other divisions of the business (including subsidiaries) to ensure food safety/quality matters are addressed
  • Issue COAs to customers
  • Address customer complaints
  • Conduct root cause analysis for out-of-specification products
  • Initiate corrective action
  • Manage the SQA risk register
  • Arrange for on-site audits where necessary
  • Provide support to new product development team
  • Submit monthly and quarterly reports to director

Requirements

  • BSc Food Science or Similar
  • Proven ability to maintain food safety certifications (e.g. BRC, FSSC 22000)
  • Min of 7 years or more experience in middle or senior management or similar
