About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a Data Analyst to join their team in manufacturing operations, based in Bellville. The candidate will provide teams with Sales Reporting (internal & external sales data), Market Intelligence (Category, Share & Competitor data) & Insights to leverage incremental growth opportunities, and to guide and influence strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Regions through delivering meaningful & actionable Sales, Market and Business Intelligence
- Establish automated specialist tools to extract key metrics and data to the business
- Deliver on ad-hoc, weekly, monthly and annual reporting & keep KPI Dashboards up to date whilst monitoring for notable changes
- Prepare, publish & highlight noteworthy trends
- Cross-reference data from the sales force, market studies (internal & external) and marketing in order to have a comprehensive overall understanding of the business
- Be the custodian of retailer supplier . Pull relevant sales data to inform performance and opportunities for growth
- Be the Category Custodian & Deliver Category Insights
- Manage Category Data (e.g. Scanned Sales Data) – Be the domain expert for category data suppliers and tools
- Interrogate data to extract key insights to inform sales activities, marketing plans, production development and customer propositions
- Interrogate and communicate key competitor trends & NPD launches
- Ad-hoc analysis of sales out data
- Provide support to Marketing and Sales with Key Account Sales Pitches and Marketing Trends/Categories
- Using Sales Intelligence & Category Insights to support Sales Teams and Marketing with sales pitches & provide NPD Trade Presenters/”Selling Stories” to facilitate sell-in
- Track sales performance & market share trends to establish traction in the marketplace, product performance, as well as understanding the impact of specific marketing activities
- Track sales and trends of new product launches to understand drivers to success or failure and rectify or build
- Respond to data-related queries and generate insights
Requirements
- Experience in managing a SQL database and producing sales reports
- Data Analysis: Able to use statistical techniques and data visualisation tools to explore and analyse large datasets.
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools and/or business intelligence tools such as Pivot, PowerPivot, Power BI, SSRS/SSAS.
- SQL coding skills
- Problem-Solver: Able to identify business problems or challenges and formulate data-driven solutions.
- Collaboration: Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide analytical support.
Qualifications
Degree or diploma a relevant field (like Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Science) Alternatively, a Higher Certificate with 6+ years of relevant experience.
