About the Role
Network Finance is seeking a Proposal Design Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg North. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and presenting proposals for solar PV and BESS system designs to clients across various project scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop preliminary and detailed solar PV and BESS system designs
- Interpret client requirements, tender documents, and technical specifications
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals for C&I and utility-scale projects
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies
- Perform system sizing, yield analysis, and financial modelling
- Compile BOQs, cost estimates, and pricing structures
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project teams
- Support the sales team during client engagements and presentations
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations
- Optimise designs for cost, efficiency, and performance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3–7 years’ experience in solar PV design and proposals
- Strong knowledge of PV systems, inverters, and BESS solutions
- Experience with design tools (e.g., Helioscope, PVsyst, AutoCAD)
- Understanding of grid integration and local regulations
- Strong commercial awareness and costing experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
