About the Role

The Finance Assistant will support the hotels finance function by handling daily accounting and financial tasks, including transaction processing, reconciliations, and reporting. This role ensures all financial operations comply with internal policies and hospitality industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and reconcile daily revenue from hotel departments (e.g., Front Office, Events)
  • Compile the Daily Revenue Report Pack for finance management
  • Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments in line with company policies
  • Maintain accurate petty cash and float records for various departments
  • Prepare month-end financial reports and departmental cost summaries
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and POS systems
  • Liaise with suppliers and service providers to resolve billing queries
  • Assist in audit preparations and ensure compliance with financial procedures
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments and customer accounts
  • Ensure financial data is properly filed, backed up, and easily accessible

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Management with finance modules
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a finance or accounts role within the hospitality industry
  • Experience with hotel PMS systems (e.g., Ezee, Hoteliga, Nightsbridge)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, reporting templates)
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero)
  • Understanding of hotel-specific financial workflows, including occupancy-based reporting and service charge tracking
