About the Role

A luxury hotel in Cape Town is seeking an experienced and energetic Front of House Manager to join their high-performing hospitality team. This role is ideal for a strong leader with a passion for guest service excellence, team development, and maintaining exceptional operational standards within a fast-paced luxury environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Front of House Operations

• Supervise and coordinate all front of house operations

• Ensure exceptional guest service and smooth daily operations

• Oversee reservation processes and booking system management

• Maintain high presentation and cleanliness standards across all FOH areas

  • Team Leadership & Development

• Train, mentor, and develop front of house staff

• Manage staff scheduling, labour control, and operational efficiency

• Support staff performance management and disciplinary procedures where required

• Foster a positive, motivated, and service-driven team culture

  • Guest Relations & Service Excellence

• Build and maintain strong guest relationships

• Handle guest queries, feedback, and complaints professionally

• Ensure luxury service standards are consistently maintained

• Support achieving sales, service, and operational targets

  • Administration, Stock & Compliance

• Assist with stock control and ordering processes

• Manage cash-ups, reconciliations, and daily handovers

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational standards

• Support reporting, administration, and operational documentation

Requirements

  • Matric certificate
  • Hospitality Diploma or equivalent advantageous
  • WSET Level 2 or similar wine qualification advantageous
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar FOH management role
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment
  • Good understanding of reservations systems and FOH operations
