About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant Manager to lead our new restaurant, a contemporary vegetarian and dairy, Italian, Mediterranean dining concept located at Premier Hotel Cape Town. This role requires a hands-on leader who is passionate about hospitality, service excellence, and delivering a refined yet warm dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily restaurant operations (floor, kitchen coordination, service flow)
- Ensure smooth service during breakfast, lunch, and dinner periods
- Manage reservations, table allocations, and guest flow
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards at all times
- Deliver exceptional guest service and handle guest feedback professionally
- Build relationships with regular guests and hotel residents
- Recruit, train, and manage front-of-house staff
- Develop team skills in service standards, product knowledge, and upselling
- Prepare staff schedules and manage productivity
- Drive revenue through upselling and effective service strategies
- Manage stock control, ordering, and wastage
- Work with Executive Chef on menu execution and cost control
- Monitor daily sales and performance against targets
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Restaurant Manager or similar role
- Experience in hotel or premium restaurant environment
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Financial acumen (stock control, cost management, reporting)
- Knowledge or experience in kosher operations (advantageous)
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
