About the Role
The Engine Assembler will play a critical role in assembling different types of engines, with a focus on heavy-duty diesel engines for the mining and other industries. This position also involves assembling smaller commercial vehicles from various brands.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembling different types of engines, including heavy-duty diesel engines
- Assemblying of smaller commercial vehicles from different brands
- Collaborating with project coordinators and other technicians to establish scope of work and supply detailed reports for a quotation to the customer
- Performing trouble shooting and tests on the dyno after assembling the engine
- Inspecting all parts received for assembly to ensure accuracy and quality
- Establishing parts required and requesting orders to be placed
Requirements
- N2 Trade related subjects, or 5 years as qualified Artisan
- Minimum of 5 years experience in diesel engine assembly
- Trade test certificate in Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Machinist, or similar
- Proficient in Afrikaans & English language
- Experience required on the following engines: Deutz, Cummins, John Deere, Perkins, CAT
