About the Role
We are partnering with an innovative, farm-to-table food concept in Cape Town to recruit a young, dynamic Senior Chef who embodies our people-first approach. Operating across three distinct channels — a vibrant market stand, a mobile food truck, and a small production space — this concept offers a truly varied role that combines hands-on cooking, team leadership, and direct guest engagement, all while championing fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced produce.
Key Responsibilities
- Proven experience as a Senior Chef – ideally in a multi-outlet hospitality environment
- Hands-on across all channels; this is not a desk-based role
- Engage confidently and warmly with customers, embodying the brand’s values
- Conduct regular stock takes, manage ordering, and minimise food waste
- Plan for seasonal shifts, market schedules, events, and supply requirements
- Train, mentor, and motivate a small multi-channel team
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
- Flexibility to support the main restaurant with hands-on cooking when operationally required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Chef in a multi-outlet hospitality environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment
- Familiarity with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
- Ability to adapt to changing market schedules and supply requirements
Qualifications
- Formal education in culinary arts or related field (e.g. Bachelors degree)
