About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a skilled and motivated Structural Engineer or Structural Technologist to join a dynamic team within the construction industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning, design, and implementation of structural projects, with a strong emphasis on commercial developments. This position combines office-based design work with on-site responsibilities, offering an exciting opportunity to apply technical expertise and project management skills in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and conceptualize structural systems for commercial buildings in compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Perform structural analysis and create detailed models using software such as Prokon, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Evaluate loads, materials, and environmental factors to ensure structural integrity and sustainability.
- Develop structural specifications that balance performance, safety, and cost-efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight during construction phases, ensuring designs are correctly implemented on-site.
- Conduct facility condition assessments and structural assessments as needed.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project coordination.
- Monitor project timelines, quality, and budgets, reporting progress to relevant stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with industry developments, technologies, and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSc/BEng) or BTech in Structural Engineering.
- Professional registration with ECSA (or in progress).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in structural engineering design, with a strong focus on commercial projects.
- Proficiency in structural design software, especially Prokon.
- Strong skills in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites.
- Physically fit and able to work in both office and construction environments.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
