About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Centurion: Formulator/Nutritionist to join our team in Sub-Saharan Africa. As a key member of our feed formulation team, you will be responsible for formulating nutritionist solutions for poultry and other livestock species, providing expert nutritional advisory services, and delivering on-farm technical support to customers across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform least-cost feed formulation and nutritional optimization for poultry (primary focus) and other livestock species using FORMAT or equivalent software.
- Provide expert nutritional advisory services and technical recommendations to customers to improve animal performance, health, feed efficiency, and overall profitability.
- Deliver on-farm technical support, troubleshooting, and practical guidance to clients across Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Develop and conduct training sessions and workshops for customers on nutrition, feed formulation, health, hygiene, and management best practices.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-5 years proven experience specifically as a Formulator/Nutritionist in the animal feed industry.
- Demonstrated competence in performing formulation work.
- SACNASP registration is required or must be actively in the process of registration.
- Understanding of swine and ruminant (large and small) nutrition in addition to poultry would be desirable.
- Proficiency in a professional feed formulation software/platform (FORMAT or similar/equivalent).
- Premix industry experience is advantageous.
Qualifications
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Animal Science, or BVSc (Veterinary Science)
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly in Africa
