About the Role
The Centurion: Senior Technical Finance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of our organization. This senior technical finance specialist will be responsible for leading financial reporting, analysis, and strategy, while also driving process improvements and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
- Lead technical accounting assessments and implementation of new accounting standards.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
- Develop forecasts, budgets, and financial models to support strategic planning.
- Monitor financial performance, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Analyze business performance trends and operational efficiencies.
- Support finance system enhancements, automation, and ERP optimization.
- Improve financial controls, reporting accuracy, and process efficiencies.
- Collaborate with IT and operational teams to streamline reporting processes.
- Partner with business units to provide financial guidance and commercial insights.
- Present financial findings and recommendations to executives and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior finance staff and support team development initiatives.
Requirements
- A degree (NQF Level 7 or higher) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Development Finance, or a related field.
- CFA, CA(SA), MBA (Finance/Strategy) qualifications.
- Experience with appraisal and closing of complex transactions.
- Strong understanding of IFRS/GAAP and financial compliance requirements.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite.
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Development Finance, or a related field.
