Our client is a rooibos export and marketing company, known for a wide and innovative range of value-added rooibos products, directly linked to their farms and the people working the fields and managing the quality of product they are producing. They are currently seeking a proficient and driven Finance BI Specialist to join their team and play a pivotal role in their ongoing success.
Job Description:
The Finance Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist is responsible for driving business intelligence, reporting automation, and continuous ERP system improvement across the organisation. Acting as the subject matter expert, this role leads system enhancement and integration projects, ensuring that data structures, workflows, and reporting frameworks are optimised to support accurate, real-time decision-making.
The incumbent works closely with eCommerce, Operations, Inventory, and CRM teams to design and maintain seamless data pipelines between platforms. This includes improving system integrations, enhancing reporting capabilities, and identifying opportunities to automate manual processes. The role ensures data integrity and consistency across systems, enabling reliable performance insights across financial, operational, inventory, and customer metrics.
While the Specialist leads analysis, project execution, and system optimisation initiatives, overall ERP ownership remains with the Financial Manager, who retains final approval authority on system changes and strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated BI dashboards and reports across financial, operational, inventory, and customer performance metrics.
- Translate cross-functional business requirements into scalable BI solutions and actionable insights.
- Build and enhance integrated data models incorporating ERP, eCommerce, inventory, and CRM data sources.
- Ensure data consistency, reconciliation, and integrity across systems to maintain a single source of truth.
- Enable and promote self-service analytics by improving dashboard accessibility, usability, and user adoption.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance reporting frameworks and performance measurement methodologies.
- Provide analytical input, metric validation, and strategic context to support data-driven planning and decision-making.
- Ensure alignment between functional reporting outputs and overarching organisational KPIs.
- Support the translation of business requirements into scalable data models and reporting solutions.
- Lead BI and ERP-related optimisation and integration projects from requirements gathering through to implementation.
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, deliverables, and success measures.
- Prepare business cases, impact analyses, and solution recommendations for review and approval prior to implementation.
- Monitor project progress, risks, and realised benefits to ensure successful delivery and measurable improvements.
- Drive key initiatives including price list automation and formatting, WooCommerce integration with Business Central, and inventory management system improvements.
- Develop and implement data governance frameworks, definitions, and quality control measures.
- Ensure the consistency, accuracy, and integrity of data across all systems and reporting outputs.
- Establish and maintain best practices for data usage, documentation, and version control.
Qualifications:
- BCom in Accounting or Finance
- Experience working with Dynamics 365/Business Central (preferred)
Experience:
- 5 – 10 years working as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Insights Analyst, or similar in a Financial Department
Skills:
- Strong Excel skills with formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data cleaning
- Experience working with multi-source data
- Proven experience owning BI projects, reporting frameworks, and analytics processes end-to-end
- Hands-on experience analysing marketing, sales, or operational data
- Experience maintaining or improving data accuracy and data hygiene
- Experience managing or coordinating data flows between systems
- Experience presenting insights to management or decision-makers
