About the Role
The Indian Ocean Export Company is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in French, have a proven track record of successfully negotiating and closing deals, and possess excellent communication skills. As a key member of our sales team, you will travel to the Indian Ocean Islands at least once every 6 weeks to see customers and develop our current business.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve profit budgets which the candidate would annually set with the approval of the MD
- Seek and identify opportunities in the market
- Successfully negotiate a trade (sale) using negotiation and salesman’s skills
- Maintain a high level of service to clients through relationships and relationship building
- Comply with the regulations of the various markets
- Comfortably work within the company’s logistical and financial controls
Requirements
- Fluent French speaking individual
- Knowledge of exports and the logistics thereof
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating and closing deals
- Ability to speak fluent French
- Good knowledge of FMCG products
- Good mathematical understanding and an ability to read numbers / figures
- Working knowledge of INCO terms both on a buying and a selling basis
- Creative and inventive style of thinking
- An ability to show initiative in any given situation
- The maturity to handle a diverse group of customers
Qualifications
- Minimum experience required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

The salary for this position will be based on the candidate’s annual performance. Additional benefits may include company-provided accommodation and travel expenses, as well as a competitive risk allowance.
