About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Durban. As a key member of our workshop, you will be responsible for conducting repairs, servicing and maintenance on diesel vehicles and equipment, while ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct repairs, servicing and maintenance on diesel vehicles and equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults
- Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance
- Attend to vehicle breakdowns and emergency repairs
- Ensure minimal downtime of fleet vehicles and equipment
- Test vehicles after repairs to ensure optimal performance
- Work closely with workshop management and other team members
Requirements
- Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic qualification
- Valid Code 14 drivers licence with PrDP
- Traceable references
- Minimum of 5 years proven experience working on heavy-duty trucks and trailers
- Knowledge and experience working on: MAN TGA, MAN TGS, Mercedes Axor, Drawbar trailers
- Experience working on waste management vehicles and equipment, including: Skip loaders, Hook loaders, Rear-end loaders, Trailers
