About the Role
Network Finance is seeking a skilled Lab Technician to join our team in Durban North. As a key member of our quality control department, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and standards. You will also contribute to the development of our laboratory operations and industry knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Food Safety HACCP/ISO testing and ensure compliance
- Perform product testing against published validated work instructions
- Report deviations and propose areas for improvement
- Calibrate test equipment and conduct ring tests to ensure accuracy
- Assist with audits, environmental and water analysis, and pathogen testing
- Manage Document Control (DRC) and document control processes
- Review and update work instructions
- Raise DRCs on Tempo as necessary
- Participate in regular laboratory reviews and quality control activities
Requirements
- Relevant laboratory experience and training
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work accurately and precisely under pressure
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Ability to maintain accurate records and reports
Qualifications
- Formal education in a relevant field (e.g. laboratory science, chemistry, biology)
- Relevant laboratory experience and training
- Certification in food safety or related field (e.g. HACCP, ISO)
