About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health & Safety Officer to join our client’s team in Durbanville, South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of health and safety regulations in the construction industry and a commitment to ensuring the safety of all employees on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local laws and regulations
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Investigate accidents and incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
- Provide training and guidance to employees on health and safety best practices
- Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities and incidents
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to address health and safety concerns on construction sites
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
