About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Engineer’s Representative to join our team in East London. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Engineer in administering and supervising road maintenance and construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contract documentation, specifications, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Engineer in administering and supervising road maintenance and construction contracts
  • Ensure compliance with contract documentation, specifications, and quality standards
  • Monitor contractor performance, labour-based methods, and site progress
  • Prepare site reports, measurements, and documentation as required
  • Liaise with contractors, stakeholders, and the Engineer on site-related matters

Requirements

Professional ECSA registration as a PrTech/PrTechni A Civil Engineering qualification from a recognised tertiary institution

Minimum 5 years experience working on national roads projects

Labour Intensive Construction NQF 5 (non-negotiable)

Proficient in preparing programmes including monitoring, updating and tracking progress

Proven experience in the supervision, monitoring and execution of labour-based road works
