About the Role

The Pro Shop Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining optimal customer service levels, increasing sales, and ensuring the cleanliness of the golf shop. Reporting directly to the Golf Shop Manager, this position is responsible for daily operations, including opening and closing, selling merchandise, supervising part-time workers, and creating a first-class experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervises and assists in the daily golf shop operation
  • Maintains optimal customer service levels and increases sales
  • Ensures cleanliness and organization of the golf shop
  • Assists Golf Shop Manager with product, sales, and service training
  • Handles customer complaints and resolves issues
  • Prepares daily reports and cash-ups as required
  • Performs stock counts and administers club rules and regulations
  • Promotes golf course facilities to members and guests
  • Assists in coordinating and facilitating golf competitions
  • Assists PGA Professionals with lessons and scoring
  • Conducts repairs (regripping, etc.) when tools are available
  • Receives and checks new stock against invoices
  • Maintains documentation and sends it to the Retail Coordinator daily

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work under standard supervision
  • Basic knowledge of retail operations and merchandising
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer skills
