About the Role
HotelJobs is seeking an experienced and hands-on Assistant Lodge Management Couple to join a stunning luxury lodge situated near East London in the Eastern Cape. As a dynamic couple with strong operational experience, excellent guest relations skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality in a luxury safari environment, you will be instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of guest service and hospitality are consistently maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the highest standards of guest service and hospitality are consistently maintained.
- Manage and oversee daily lodge operations, ensuring smooth coordination across departments.
- Support the General Manager in day-to-day management and decision-making.
- Uphold the lodges brand standards, ensuring attention to detail across all guest touchpoints.
- Engage with guests in a warm and professional manner, ensuring memorable experiences.
- Supervise; train, and motivate lodge staff to ensure excellent service delivery.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive working environment.
- Assist with staff scheduling and performance management.
- Ensure that all staff operate in line with company policies and procedures.
- Assist with stock control, procurement, and daily financial administration.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting for operational departments.
- Support with budget monitoring and cost control initiatives.
- Oversee general maintenance standards and ensure preventative maintenance schedules are followed.
- Ensure all guest areas and back-of-house spaces are kept in immaculate condition.
- Liaise with housekeeping and maintenance teams to address issues promptly.
- Maintain service standards across restaurant and bar operations.
- Support menu planning, stock management, and quality control.
- Ensure a seamless dining experience for all guests.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a management couple role within a luxury lodge or similar hospitality environment.
- Strong understanding of lodge operations, including front of house, housekeeping, and F&B.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Confident in managing staff and guest relations under pressure.
- Drivers licences essential.
