Overview:

Hire Resolve’s client, an established consulting engineering firm based in Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha, is seeking a motivated and experienced Professionally registered Electrical Engineer to join their team. As a Pr Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing electrical engineering projects from conception to completion. This includes design, installation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, as well as ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct scoping and condition assessments and provide reports.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of building services projects, including planning, design, and construction.
• Prepare tender documents.
• Generate various reports, such as Project Inception, Concept and Viability, Design, tender evaluation, progress, financial, and close-out reports.
• Administer projects on a day-to-day basis.
• Take ownership of electrical building services and urban and rural reticulation and distribution design.
• Administer electrical engineering contracts as the Engineer according to the contract terms.
• Ensure construction quality control and expedite design clarifications.
• Ensure design adherence and construction quality control, and expedite design clarifications.
• Handle technical queries and resolutions, and lead Site and Technical Meetings on site, including taking minutes.
• Review contractors’ Quality Control Plans and Construction Method Statements.
• Prepare Payment Valuation and measure electrical and electronic installations.
• Maintain frequent communication with all professionals and clients.
• Handle technical queries and dispute resolutions in collaboration with others.
• Assist with project safety and environmental matters during construction.
• Provide general office and project-related administrative support if required.

Requirements:

• BSc/BEng/BTech degree in Electrical Engineering
• Registration as Professional Engineer – Pr Eng/PrTech/PrTechni
• Between 2 and 5 years of post graduate experience in electrical engineering
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and components
• Experience with electrical design software and tools specifically BIM software in particular BIM360, ACC Docs, ACC Build and ACC Collaborate Pro
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit MEP is required
• Relux lighting design and Dialux is required
• Experience with municipal building service projects for electrical, electronic, solar PV systems and fire detection
• Experience with urban and rural reticulation and distribution
• Experience in health, education and public works projects
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
• Strong communication and leadership skills
