About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Commercial Cattle Farm Manager to join our team at One Connect Solutions in Ermelo. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of cattle management, farm operations, and staff supervision. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to take on a leadership role and contribute to the success of our commercial cattle farm.
Key Responsibilities
- Livestock Management: Oversee daily care, feeding, and management of cattle; monitor herd health and condition, coordinate veterinary care when required; implement and manage breeding, calving, and herd improvement programs.
- Farm Operations Management: Plan and manage daily farm operations and activities; supervise pasture rotation and grazing management to ensure optimal land use; maintain water systems, fencing, and infrastructure; manage feed production, storage, and procurement where required; oversee farm equipment usage and ensure proper maintenance.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise and manage farm workers and general labour staff; allocate daily tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently; provide training and guidance on livestock handling and farm procedures; ensure staff follow health and safety regulations.
